1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Langlen is a language-learning service based in Munich, Germany. The operator and contact details are shown above. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Our Privacy Policy separately explains how personal information is processed.

These terms apply to individual learners. If an organisation buys access for a team, a separate written business agreement may also apply. Mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected.

2. Your account and eligibility

Provide accurate account information, protect your password and tell us if someone may have accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity you authorise. Do not share, sell or rent access to your personal account.

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. If you are a minor, your parent or guardian must authorise your use where the law requires it. An adult must authorise paid purchases for a minor. Local age and parental-consent rules also apply; choosing an age group does not replace any required consent.

3. Courses, practice and exam preparation

Langlen offers structured lessons and practice in reading, listening, speaking, writing, vocabulary and grammar. Stories, flashcards, AI conversations and exam practice are available for selected languages and levels. Availability may differ between the website and mobile apps.

Progress indicators and practice scores are learning guides. They are not official language qualifications, admissions decisions or proof of exam readiness. Langlen does not guarantee fluency, a particular score or an exam pass. Exam names belong to their owners; practice material does not imply endorsement or an official partnership.

4. AI teachers, feedback and voice features

Our AI teachers are software, not human teachers. Replies, translations, suggested answers and feedback can contain mistakes. Check important information and use your judgement. AI output is educational support, not medical, legal, financial or emergency advice.

Voice features need microphone permission and may use external speech services. A practice score may reflect words recognised from your recording rather than a complete assessment of pronunciation. Background noise, accent and device quality can affect results. You can listen, repeat and try again.

5. Free access, subscriptions and payment

Free access may have usage limits. Where paid plans are offered, the checkout shows the included features, price, currency, applicable taxes, billing period and any renewal or trial conditions before you pay. Do not assume that a feature or payment option is available until it is offered to you.

A subscription renews only under the conditions disclosed when you buy it. Cancel through the channel where you purchased it: the web billing option, the relevant app-store subscription settings or support if you need help. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The purchase confirmation explains when access ends after cancellation.

We will communicate price or material plan changes before they apply and provide the notice and choices required by law. We will not treat continued use alone as consent where express consent is legally required. Team prices and discounts are confirmed in the individual business offer.

6. Withdrawal, refunds and consumer rights

If you are an EU or EEA consumer buying online, a 14-day right of withdrawal generally applies from the date the contract is concluded. To withdraw, send a clear statement to support@langlen.com or the operator address above before the period ends. Include your name, account email, the purchase date and the service concerned. You do not need to give a reason or use a particular form.

You may use this wording: “I hereby withdraw from my contract for the Langlen service purchased on [date]. My name is [name] and my account email is [email].” Add your address and the date; sign only if you send the statement on paper. Send it to the operator identified above.

Where withdrawal applies, we refund payments within 14 days of receiving your statement, normally using the original payment method and without a refund fee. If you expressly asked a service to start during the withdrawal period, a lawful proportionate charge may apply. A withdrawal right ends early only when the legal requirements for that particular service or digital content are met, including any required express request, consent, acknowledgement and confirmation. Simply opening Langlen does not waive your rights.

App-store purchases use the relevant store’s payment and refund process, without removing mandatory rights. Other countries may provide additional cancellation or refund rights. Your legal rights when a digital service is not supplied or is defective remain unchanged.

7. Learning reminders and notifications

We plan to offer daily learning summaries and reminders when you have not reached your chosen daily goal or learning time. These features are not a promise that notifications are already available. When introduced, we will explain the available channels and ask for permission where required.

You will be able to turn off optional reminders through the controls provided for the feature, your device notification settings or the unsubscribe option for reminder emails. Promotional messages need a separate lawful basis. Important account, security, legal and billing messages may still be sent where necessary. Delivery can depend on device settings, connection and time zone.

8. Use Langlen responsibly

Do not use Langlen for illegal activity, harassment, fraud, malware, unauthorised access or attempts to bypass access limits. Do not scrape or resell the service without permission. Only submit information you are entitled to share, and do not include someone else’s private information without an appropriate basis.

9. Your content and Langlen materials

You retain your rights in the material you submit. You allow us to process that material as needed to provide your requested learning features, keep the service secure and handle support, as explained in the Privacy Policy. This is not permission to publish your private conversations.

Langlen lessons, illustrations, software and branding are protected by intellectual-property rights. You may use the materials for learning under your plan. Do not redistribute or commercially reuse them without permission unless the law allows it. AI output may not be unique and may require checking before reuse.

10. Changes, availability and support

We may maintain, update or improve Langlen. Connections, third-party services or maintenance can cause interruptions. Material changes to a paid digital service will follow the notice, legal justification and cancellation rights required by applicable law. These terms do not exclude your legal rights to a service that works as agreed.

11. Ending access and deleting your account

You may stop using Langlen and contact support@langlen.com to request account deletion. Cancel any paid subscription separately through its purchase channel. We may restrict access for serious misuse, non-payment or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to resolve the issue; urgent security or legal action may require immediate restriction. Contact support if you believe a restriction is wrong.

You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account. Confirm with your current password. Giving a leaving reason is optional; it is not required for deletion. Only category totals are kept for this feedback, without your account details or a free-text comment. Apple and Google subscriptions must be cancelled separately in the store; deleting the account does not cancel those store subscriptions.

12. Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, fraud, a guarantee or mandatory product-liability rules. For ordinary negligence in breaching an essential contractual duty, liability is limited to foreseeable loss typical of the contract where the law permits. Mandatory consumer remedies are unaffected.

13. Local rights, updates and contact

German law applies, without taking away mandatory protections of the country where you normally live. Consumers retain any mandatory right to bring a claim in their local courts. Contact support@langlen.com to discuss a complaint or request a copy of these terms.

We may update these terms for legal changes or changes to the service. We will provide notice of material changes and obtain consent where required. Changes do not remove rights you already have. The date above identifies this version.
